Start 30 days freeA child who is still learning to read at nine, twelve or fifteen does not need to be reminded of it. Letters & Devotion lets you find where they actually are, start them there, and keep the rest of their grade work moving with read-aloud turned on. Nothing is timed, so the pace is theirs.
Find the starting point first
A short placement tool in the parent area checks reading and math and suggests where to begin. It is a starting point, not a score, and your child never sees a grade on it.
A phonics course that does not rush
The catalog includes a phonics course of five units. Practice slows down when a child struggles and moves on when they have it.
Read-aloud for everything else
A parent can switch on read-aloud as a Learning Support, so a child who cannot yet read a science or history lesson can still hear it. Phonics and early reading choices are the exception, because the point there is for the child to read them.
Different levels in different subjects
Each child can have a starting point per subject, so a twelve-year-old can do sixth grade reading and seventh grade math without anyone making a fuss.
Clara explains the specific mistake
When a child misreads a word or a question, Clara explains that exact mistake kindly and lets them try again. You can read the conversation afterward.
What this is not
- It is not a diagnosis. You pick supports, never a condition, and no diagnosis is stored. Supports are not a substitute for an evaluation or an IEP.
- It is not a reading specialist. If you suspect something is getting in the way, see someone qualified, and use this alongside that help.
- It will not hurry a child. If you need a certain reading level by a certain date, this is not a promise of that.

Questions parents ask
Can a ten-year-old start at kindergarten reading?
Yes. You choose the starting level for each course, and the placement tool suggests where to begin. The child works through lessons at their own pace, and nothing labels them as behind.
Will my child hear the lessons if they cannot read yet?
Yes, if you turn on read-aloud in Learning Supports. Phonics and early reading choices are not read aloud, so the child does that part themselves.
Does the Bible lesson still happen?
Yes. It is read aloud at the table with you, so a child who cannot read the King James text yet still takes part.
What does it cost?
$29 a month or $290 a year for every child, with 30 days free and no card.
