Start 30 days freeYes. Speech and Communication: Composing, Delivering, and Evaluating Spoken Argument is a course of four units and 28+ hours. It is a talking-and-listening course, not a report-writing course.
The four units
Listening Critically, Reading an Audience. Building the Spoken Case. Controlling and Evaluating Delivery. Argument Under Pressure: The Defended Address.
A real listener
Every speech is recorded and sent to a real person, such as a grandparent, an aunt or a sibling, instead of a classroom.
Grading yourself honestly
A child watches their own recording and grades it against a specific checklist, then compares that with what the listener thought.
Answering pushback
By the end a student builds an argument that answers pushback out loud and delivers it to someone real.
What this is not
- It is one course among many. You decide which to take, which to hold back and how many to do in a day.
- It is not a debate league and has no live audience beyond the people you choose.
- It cannot promise any college will accept a homeschool transcript. It prints one of what was taught and mastered, and your family issues it.
