Bible: the Old Testament survey

English language arts
Eight units: Finding the Evidence, What the Story Is Really About, Main Idea and How Nonfiction Is Built, Reading Nonfiction Closely, Comparing Two Texts, Writing to Give an Opinion, Writing to Inform, and Writing a Story in Order. It follows the Common Core State Standards.

Eight units, including the meaning of multiplication, division and fact families, place value to 10,000 and rounding, area and perimeter, fractions on the number line, elapsed time, and scaled graphs.
Science and social studies
Investigating Our World covers forces and motion, magnets, life cycles, inheritance of traits, fossils, weather, and a unit called God Made the World, in line with the Next Generation Science Standards. Communities Near and Far runs from maps and globes to government, trade and being a contributing community member.
Art, music, PE and health
Seeing and Making (art), Making Music, Physical Education and Health for grades 3-5 are separate courses, and PE is deliberately off screen with a weekly plan of what to go and do.
What this is not
- It is a lot of courses. Third grade has about nine, and you decide which to take, which to hold back and how many to do in a day.
- It is a screen-based curriculum apart from PE and the table portion of the Bible lesson.
- A child who is behind in reading is not stuck. The course slows down, and you can set courses to a lower grade.
