Four free steps, then a checklist
How do I know if a homeschool curriculum is right for my child before I pay?
Free for 30 days. No card.
Every course in every grade, for every child in the family. Lessons pause when the free days end unless you choose to subscribe.
Start 30 days freeWith Letters & Devotion you can check four things before paying anything: read every course in full with no account, work through a full sample lesson at /sample, print free Bible units, and then use all 84 courses with your own child for 30 days with no card. When the 30 days end, lessons pause rather than charge.
Step one: read all of it
Every course is published in full: every unit, lesson and learning objective, with no account and no card. The scope and sequence at /scope-and-sequence puts every course in teaching order on one printable page.
Step two: try a real lesson
The full sample lesson at /sample takes a couple of minutes and needs no account. It shows Clara asking, waiting and explaining, which no description can.
Step three: print a Bible unit
The free printable Bible units, for example the Grade 1 unit at /free/grade-1-bible, need no email and no account. Each has a parent script, a page to read together and a practice sheet.
Step four: 30 days with your own child
The first 30 days cover all 84 courses for every child in the household, and no card is taken. When the 30 days end, lessons pause unless you subscribe, your child's work stays saved, and nothing is charged.
A checklist you can use on any curriculum
Ask each one: can I read the whole scope before paying, can I try a real lesson with no account, does the trial want a card, what happens on its last day, and what does a second child cost. Then ask the question that matters most: can I read what my child actually did?
What this is not
- A month is short for judging a whole year. Thirty days shows how your child takes to Clara and the pacing; it cannot show how the course holds up in month eight.
- The sample lesson and the printable units are samples. They show a lesson and a first unit, not the daily rhythm of a full curriculum.
- Reading a course tells you what is taught, not whether your child will like being taught by an AI. Only your child can answer that, and after the trial it costs $29 a month or $290 a year for the whole household.

Questions parents ask
Can I try a homeschool curriculum free without a credit card?
With Letters & Devotion, yes. The first 30 days are free with no card, and you can read every course and try a full sample lesson with no account at all.
What happens when the free trial ends?
Lessons pause unless you choose to subscribe, and your child's work stays saved. Nothing is charged, because no card was taken.
Can I see the whole curriculum before signing up?
Yes. All 84 courses are readable in full, and the scope and sequence lists every course in teaching order, with no account.
What should I check during a free trial?
Read the conversations Clara has with your child, notice whether wrong answers get explained, and see whether the pace fits. Parents can open any lesson and read the whole conversation.
