This is a Christian curriculum, and it teaches an old earth: science follows the Next Generation Science Standards exactly as scientists teach it, including deep time and shared ancestry. Many faithful Christians read Genesis 1 as telling who made the world and why, not as a scientific report of how, and that is the position this curriculum has taken.
