Start 30 days freeYes. Letters & Devotion has a free printable Bible unit for each middle school grade, sixth through eighth, as a 30-page PDF with no email and no account. The three King James Bible courses behind them are readable in full, and the whole curriculum is free for 30 days with no card.
Grade 6: how to read the Bible
The course is Bible: How to Read the Bible, and the Life of Christ. Its free first unit, What Kind of Book Is This, has eight lessons: a library not a book, narrative, law, poetry, wisdom, prophecy, gospel, and letters. It teaches that Scripture is different kinds of writing, and that a proverb is not read the way a law is.
Grade 7: Acts to Revelation
The course is Bible: Acts to Revelation, and the Early Church, with Paul's letters read where he actually wrote them. The free first unit, The Church Spreads, runs from Pentecost and the first arrests to Stephen and the gospel leaving Jerusalem.
Grade 8: the Old Testament read through the New
The course is Bible: The Old Testament Read Through the New, a year on how the two testaments fit together. The free first unit, Promise and Fulfillment, starts with how the first Christians read their Bible and follows the first promise in Genesis to David's throne and Immanuel, watching the New Testament writers quote the Old.
Unit 2 and the full courses
Unit 2 is free by email a week after you ask: Covenant for Grade 6, Paul on the Road for Grade 7, Sacrifice, Temple, Priest for Grade 8. Each course has 4 units and 36 lessons, published in full with no account.
What this is not
- It is not a free full year. The printables are the first unit of each course, with Unit 2 by email; the 36-lesson year needs the online curriculum after the 30 free days.
- It does not pick a denomination. Where Christians differ on baptism, communion or the end times, the courses name the positions, and your church's view is yours to teach.
- It is King James only, so a student who reads another translation at church will meet different wording.
