Start 30 days freeYes. Algebra-Based Physics: Modeling Matter, Motion, and Energy is a grade 11 course of eight units and 55+ hours that uses algebra, not calculus, to answer how things move, why, and where the energy goes. It is in line with the Next Generation Science Standards.
The eight units
Describing Motion. Forces and Newton's Laws. Momentum and Collisions. Work, Energy, and Power. Waves. Light, the Electromagnetic Spectrum, and Fields. Electricity and Circuits. Capstone: Engineering Design Under Constraint.
Build, predict, test
A child builds rolling carts, pendulums, circuits from batteries and bulbs, and a mousetrap-powered car, and tests predictions they made on paper first.
Reasoning, not formulas
The point is not memorizing formulas but looking at a situation nobody has shown them and reasoning out what should happen, then checking it.
Algebra, not calculus
The course uses algebra only, so it pairs with Algebra II in the same grade.
What this is not
- It is one course among many. You decide which to take, which to hold back and how many to do in a day.
- It is not calculus-based physics, and it has no course labeled AP.
- It cannot promise any college will accept a homeschool transcript. It prints one of what was taught and mastered, and your family issues it.

Questions parents ask
Does it need special equipment?
It uses simple builds like carts, pendulums and battery-and-bulb circuits. The course page lists what each unit asks for.
Does it count toward a high school transcript?
Hours log themselves and a transcript of what was taught and mastered prints in one click. There is also a free transcript maker at /homeschool-transcript that needs no account.
What does it cost?
$29 a month or $290 a year for every child. The first 30 days are free with no card.
