Start 30 days freeYes. Philosophy and Logic: Reasoning About Reality, Knowledge, and Value is a one-semester grade 12 course of four units and 31+ hours. It has one real job: teaching a student to rebuild someone else's argument in its strongest form before attacking it.
The four units
The Tools of Argument: Validity, Soundness, and Fallacy. Knowledge, Belief, and Doubt. Mind, Body, and Personal Identity. Ethics: Consequences, Duties, and Character.
One skill, applied repeatedly
The famous thought experiments and the debates about God, free will and trolleys are that one skill applied to a new question every few weeks.
Nobody wins
A student learns to state both sides so well that they can say what would change their mind.
Beside the Bible courses
Bible: Worldview and Apologetics in grade 11 and Bible: Christian Ethics and Vocation in grade 12 are separate courses.
What this is not
- It is one course among many. You decide which to take, which to hold back and how many to do in a day.
- It is a survey of argument and a few big questions, not a history of philosophy.
- It cannot promise any college will accept a homeschool transcript. It prints one of what was taught and mastered, and your family issues it.
