A four-step way to talk about art
Describe it, dig into how it is built, guess what it means, decide if it works.
Rules of each tradition
A child sees why a Japanese woodblock print and a Renaissance painting are both right, playing by different rules.
What this is not
- It is one course among many. You decide which to take, which to hold back and how many to do in a day.
- It is not a studio course with a kiln. It uses paper, pencils and what is in the house.
- It is a short elective, not a full year.

Questions parents ask
Is there an art history course for high school?
Yes. Seeing and Meaning: A History of Visual Analysis is a grade 10 course about analyzing art, not making it.
Can I change the grade?
Yes. You set the grade for each course and can change it at any time, so a child can take a course above or below their age.
What does it cost?
$29 a month or $290 a year for every child. The first 30 days are free with no card.
