Bible: survey and Christian doctrine
Four units, 84+ hours: The Old Testament Books, The New Testament Books and the Canon, God, Christ, Spirit, and Salvation, Church, Last Things. The King James Version, every grade.
Algebra I
Eight units: Linear Relationships as Rules, Graphs and Stories, Systems of Linear Equations, Linear Inequalities and Absolute Value, Function Notation, Introduction to Quadratic Functions, Solving Quadratic Equations, Piecewise Functions, and Modeling with Data. It follows the Common Core State Standards.
Biology, and where the family chooses
Twelve units, from the chemistry of life and cells through genetics, a unit called Creation and the Origin of Life, ecology and human body systems, to a capstone evidence-based argument. At signup you pick "Creation" or "Creation, with evolution taught alongside". With the second, Biology 9 teaches evolution by natural selection next to the Creation unit, accurately, as what mainstream science says and why.
English 9
Nine units: point of view and narrative reliability, a novel read whole, Shakespeare, reading and comparing arguments, writing narrative and argument, research, and a multi-genre portfolio with a second novel.
Geography, health, finance, Spanish and PE
World Geography has eight units from the geographer's toolkit to regional studies of the Americas, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and Asia and the Pacific. Health Literacy, Personal Finance, Spanish I and Physical Education are separate courses.
What this is not
- It cannot promise any college will accept a homeschool transcript. It prints one of what was taught and mastered, and your family issues it.
- It has no course labeled AP or honors, and no language beyond Spanish II.
- It is a lot of courses. You decide which to take, which to hold back and how many to do in a day.
