Start 30 days freeLetters & Devotion teaches Algebra I as a grade 9 course of eight units and 55+ hours. An adaptive app does most of the explaining and problem-serving, and you do the parts that need a real person. It follows the Common Core State Standards.
The eight units
Linear Relationships as Rules, Graphs, and Stories. Systems of Linear Equations. Linear Inequalities and Absolute Value. Systems with Nonlinear Functions and function notation. Introduction to Quadratic Functions. Solving Quadratic Equations. Piecewise Functions and Absolute Value Graphs. Modeling with Data: Linear Regression and an Introduction to Variability.
What the parent does
You talk through why something works, check whether your child understands or is just pattern-matching, and grade the written justifications. You do not have to teach the algebra.
The goal by June
A student should be able to look at a table, a graph, an equation or a written scenario and move fluently between all four.
Wrong answers get a reason
Clara, the teacher in every lesson, reads the actual wrong answer and explains the specific mistake instead of only marking it, and the course slows down when a child struggles.
What this is not
- It is one course among many. You decide which to take, which to hold back and how many to do in a day.
- It is not a lecture course. An app and Clara explain and drill, and a parent reads the written justifications.
- It cannot promise any college will accept a homeschool transcript. It prints one of what was taught and mastered, and your family issues it.

Pre-Algebra is the grade 8 course built as its foundation. You can start a student anywhere and set the grade for each course.
Does it count toward a high school transcript?
Hours log themselves and a transcript of what was taught and mastered prints in one click. There is also a free transcript maker at /homeschool-transcript that needs no account.
What does it cost?
$29 a month or $290 a year for every child. The first 30 days are free with no card.
