Start 30 days freeYes. Foundations of American Government and Civic Life is a grade 12 course of four units and 28+ hours about how power actually gets used, checked and fought over. A student reads the Constitution like a legal document.
The four units
Constitutional Design: Power, Limits, and Federalism. The Three Branches in Practice. Rights, Liberties, and the Limits of Government Power. Civic Participation, Media, and Public Policy.
Real fights, not a list of branches
It tests the text against live questions: should the president send troops without Congress, may a state ignore a federal law, does free speech have limits?
Both sides, strongest form
It ends with a student picking a real, contested policy issue and writing the strongest possible case for both sides, not picking a winner.
Uncomfortable on purpose
The course is built to make a student uncomfortable with easy answers.
What this is not
- It is one course among many. You decide which to take, which to hold back and how many to do in a day.
- It does not tell your child how to vote or which party to support.
- It cannot promise any college will accept a homeschool transcript. It prints one of what was taught and mastered, and your family issues it.
