What Time4Learning is
Time4Learning is one of the longest-established online homeschool programs in the United States, covering PreK through high school with animated lessons, automatically graded activities and a parent portal that reports progress. It has been around long enough to have a very large community of families using it, which is worth something real when you are stuck at nine at night.
The pricing difference that actually decides it
Time4Learning prices per student, with a reduced rate for additional children and different rates for the high school grades. So the number on their pricing page is the cost of your first child, and your household total depends on how many children you have and which grades they are in.
Letters & Devotion is $29 a month for every child in the household, month to month, with no per-child seats and no course limits. That is $348 a year whether you have one child or four, or $290 a year on the annual plan. The first 30 days are free, a card is taken and nothing is charged until day 30, and cancelling before then costs nothing.

- Your child learns best from animated video lessons. Time4Learning is built around them, particularly in the younger grades. Letters & Devotion teaches through written explanation and conversation, and if your child will not read, that is a real difference and it favours them.
- You want a large, established community of other families using the same thing. There are years of forum threads, lesson plans and reviews for Time4Learning, and almost none for a curriculum this new.
- You want a long track record. They have been operating for many years. Letters & Devotion launched recently, and if that matters to you it should count against us rather than being argued away.

A teacher that explains the mistake
Clara sits inside every lesson and responds to the actual wrong answer. A child who answers 126 to 304 minus 178 is told which column went wrong and walked through that column, rather than marked incorrect and moved along.
You can read every word said to your child
From the parent side you can open any lesson and read the whole conversation in the order it happened, not a summary and not a score. Conversations are kept for 30 days and then deleted.

It depends entirely on how many children you have, which is the point of the difference. Time4Learning prices per student with a discount for additional children; Letters & Devotion is one price for the household. Check their current price on their own site and multiply by your number of children and by twelve, then compare to $348 a year.
Which one is accredited?
Neither is an accredited school. Both are curricula used by parent-led homeschools, and in both cases the parent is the school of record.
Can I see either one before paying?
Letters & Devotion's 84 courses are readable in full with no account and no card, and there is a full sample lesson. Time4Learning publishes scope and sequence information and demo material on their site; check there for what is currently available.

Why there is no price for Time4Learning on this page
We checked in September 2026 and the sources contradicted each other, including the companies' own pages against the review sites. Publishing a competitor's price that turns out to be wrong is unfair to them and useless to you, and any figure here would be out of date within a month anyway. Ours is above, because it is ours and we can stand behind it. Theirs is one click away, on their site, where it is current.
