A comparison written by one of the two
Letters & Devotion vs Classical Conversations
We make one of these, so read this the way you would read any comparison written by a seller. What we can do is be specific about our own product, accurate about the shape of theirs, and honest about where they are the better answer. Their current price is on their site, not on this page, and the reason is at the bottom.
What Classical Conversations is
Classical Conversations is a Christian classical homeschool program organised around local communities. Families meet one day a week under a licensed director with tutors leading the day, and the parent teaches at home the rest of the week. Its programs run from Foundations and Scribblers for young children through Essentials and the Challenge levels for older students, built on the classical trivium of memory work, dialectic and rhetoric, with Latin, debate and a great deal of recitation. The community is the product as much as the material is, and for many families it is the reason they stay.
The pricing difference that actually decides it
Classical Conversations charges tuition per student per program per year, with registration and facility fees and the materials on top, and the community is run locally so the total is set where you live. It is not a subscription and the household total rises with each child enrolled. The figures are on their site and with your local community; read them there.
Letters & Devotion is $29 a month for every child in the household, month to month, with no per-child seats and no course limits. That is $348 a year whether you have one child or four, or $290 a year on the annual plan. The first 30 days are free with no card, and when they end, lessons pause unless you choose to subscribe.
The comparison to run is the same either way: monthly price, times the number of children, times twelve.

- You want a weekly in-person community: other parents, other children, a room to walk into. Classical Conversations is built around that and Letters & Devotion has nothing like it. A child is one child working with a teacher on a screen, and a parent is on their own.
- You want the classical method itself: memory work chanted and sung, Latin from the early years, formal logic and rhetoric in the upper ones. Letters & Devotion is a standards-aligned curriculum in the ordinary K-12 subjects and does not follow the trivium.
- You want to be the teacher and want training and peers to do it well. Their model equips the parent as the teacher and surrounds them with other parents doing the same. Letters & Devotion hands the teaching to Clara.
- Your student is at the Challenge level and would thrive on seminar discussion and debate with peers. Nothing in a one-to-one product replaces a table of sixteen-year-olds arguing about a book.
Where Letters & Devotion is different
The teaching is done, not assigned
Clara teaches every lesson inside the product and responds to the actual wrong answer a child gives. Classical Conversations supplies the material and the community day; the daily teaching at home is the parent's, and the program says so plainly.
A complete curriculum in every subject
84 courses cover math, reading and language arts, science, history, Bible and electives from kindergarten through twelfth grade, each written as a full year. Many families in Classical Conversations add separate math and language arts programs; here there is nothing to add.
One price, every child, no community fees
$29 a month covers every child in the household, with no per-student tuition, no registration and no facility fee. The trade is that there is no facility either.

Questions parents ask
Can I use Letters & Devotion alongside Classical Conversations?
Some families would, for math or science, since one subscription covers every course and you can enrol a child in one course rather than a whole grade. Whether that suits your community's expectations is a question for your director.
Does Letters & Devotion have any community or co-op?
No. It is one child working with a teacher, and the parent can read every word of it afterward. If a weekly community is what your family needs, Classical Conversations has it and we do not.
Which one is accredited?
Neither. Both are used by parent-led homeschools, and in both cases the parent is the school of record.

Why there is no price for Classical Conversations on this page
We checked in September 2026 and the sources contradicted each other, including the companies' own pages against the review sites. Publishing a competitor's price that turns out to be wrong is unfair to them and useless to you, and any figure here would be out of date within a month anyway. Ours is above, because it is ours and we can stand behind it. Theirs is one click away, on their site, where it is current.
